Despite their losing record, the Philadelphia Spinners have been competitive in each of their games, including a near-comeback in their home opener against the DC Current. This game would prove similar, after the Current outscored the Spinners 6-1 in the third quarter to take an 18-13 lead into the final period.

After tight defense and the MLU’s first Callahan score (intercepting an opponent’s pass in their end zone) by #21 Michael Panna, the Spinners were down 1 point with less than a minute to go. The Current, bending but not breaking, tacked on a meaningless score as time expired to win the game 25-23.

Coverage was provided by Pete Guion, Niko Duffy, Brian Canniff, and me. Check out the Highlights here!
